Call for Papers

The 46th annual conference of the American Politics Group of the UK Political Studies Association will be hosted by the University of Kent in the United Kingdom from Friday 3rd to Sunday 5th January 2020.

The APG invites proposals on any aspect of American politics. Papers or panel proposals examining contemporary US political institutions or processes, foreign policy issues or political history are welcome. The conference organizers would also welcome papers addressing comparative themes or relevant theoretical or methodological issues.

Past conferences have had a strong postgraduate presence and we especially encourage young scholars to present their work.

If you are interested in presenting a paper, please send a title and abstract to Dr Andrew Wroe at a.j.wroe@kent.ac.uk by 1st November 2019. Proposals should be around 150 words for single papers and 300 words for panels.

We will shortly announce the conference cost and open up a site for colleagues to register.

While the University of Kent is hosting the conference, the conference venue and accommodation is in Canterbury Cathedral Lodge in the precincts of Canterbury Cathedral, a UNESCO World Heritage Site in the heart of this ancient city.
