IPSA Work-in-Progress Sessions

Call for Papers: 31 March - 6 May 2026

The Call for Papers for the second edition of IPSA Work-in-Progress Sessions (IPSA-WiPS) is open from 31 March to 6 May 2026.

IPSA-WiPS is an online event taking place from 13–19 July 2026. It aims to establish a series of interactive workshops where individual IPSA members can present and engage in in-depth discussions about their research with like-minded colleagues who share similar interests.

IPSA-WiPS emphasizes on “work in progress” papers, so completed research is not a requirement. This format provides a good opportunity for paper authors to receive specific and substantial feedback that is often lacking in other conference settings.

Regional Conference in Wrocław

Call for Proposals: 1 April - 13 May 2026

The Call for Proposals for IPSA’s Regional Conference on the theme Resilience of Democracy in a Polarized World: Populism, Autocratization, and Global Challenges, is open from 1 April to 13 May 2026.

The regional conference will take place from 14–16 October 2026 in Wrocław, Poland.

We welcome paper and panel proposals that examine democratic resilience, erosion, and transformation from theoretical, empirical, and comparative perspectives. Contributions addressing any region or time period are welcome.
