Security is a socio-political field of research. Public security policies, which fall squarely within the scope of welfare policies, compromise the protection of democratic values and require a governance model in line with the nature and scope of the challenges ahead. The incorporation of such a governance model to this socio-political field implies analysis and reflection on three key principles of governance: coordination, management and regulation (Kirchner 2006, 2014; Kirchner & Dominguez 2013; Bossong 2012; Zwolski 2013, 2014; Envall & Hall 2016; Lavallée & Pouponneau 2016; Caballero-Anthony 2019; Wojnicz 2020; ). The working group welcomes papers that provide evidence and reflection on the following aspects: (*) Security as a socio-political concept: dimensions and actors for governance. (*) The design of public security policies (coordination, management and regulation) (*) The challenges of implementation: multilevel governance; multi-sectoral and multi-agency governance. (*) The evaluation of security policies. (*) Towards a governance model for security policies.
