Last July, IPSA launched a new tool to help researchers identify predatory journals, the Predation Index. Developed by International Political Science Review (IPSR) Co-Editors Daniel Stockemer and Annika Hinze, and former IPSR Editor Theresa Reidy, it consists of a 10-question self-assessment tool designed to help scholars assess the credibility of academic journals. It was first launched in an article by Hinze, Stockemer and Reidy in PS: Political Science & Politics titled "The Predation Index: A Tool to Discover Predatory Journals" (August 2025), and, on 10 November, IPSA held a webinar on the matter to mark World Science Day for Peace and Development.

The recording of the webinar is now available on the IPSA website. This presentation provides essential guidance for researchers at all stages of their careers on recognizing the signs of predatory practices and safeguarding their publication records.
