University College Cork: Lectureship in Government

Expressions of interest are invited for an eight month contract in the Department of Government, to begin on January 3, 2012. http://www.ucc.ie/en/government

Applicants must hold a doctoral degree and have teaching and research experience. The successful candidate will be expected to teach at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Experience of supervising postgraduate students is desirable.

Lecturers are also expected to make an effective independent contribution to the active  research programme of the Department and have a publishing record.

The ideal candidate will be asked to teach modules in the following areas:

• Political Ideology

• Democracy and Human Rights

• Politics of Science and Technology

• Citizenship

Salary Scale: Lectureship, Below the Bar, (new entrants 2011*):  €31,821 - €51,270  pro rata.
